The DVD includes both the Japanese and the English versions of the series (with the Japanese being the default) and I feel both the original and the dub are pretty much equal in quality. The animation of the series is very good with some brilliant scenery and some well-choreographed fights. Highlights of the series include the fight between Silver Crow and Cyan Pile as well as whenever the Red King (who is probably my favourite character in the series) enters battle. Throughout the series there are is some good action as well as some nice humour. The final six episodes introduce the see Silver Crow and his friends approached by the Red King to stop the rampage of a powerful and insane Burst Linker. The next couple of episodes see Haruyuki make a mistake that forces him to hire a bodyguard until he can win back some points. The first five follow Haruyuki's first steps in Brain Burst as Silver Crow and helps Kuroyukihime/Black Lotus return to her former position. The episodes in this volume can be split into three sections. The anime is based on a series of light novels by Reki Kawahara who also wrote 'Sword Art Online' and it is thought by many to take place in the same world a few decades later. This volume of the 'Accel World' anime includes the first twelve episodes of this very entertaining series. Haruyuki's only escape in in his games where he is exceptionally talented so when Kuroyukihime, the Student Council Vice-President and the most beautiful girl in school, approaches him with the offer that she will solve his bully problem if he will help her in a very special game called Brain Burst, Haruyuki jumps at the chance. In a world where virtual and augmented reality technology has become a part of everyday life, through the use of devices known as Neuro-Links, Haruyuki Arita is a shy chubby high school boy who is repeatedly bullied by his classmates.
